Melody Woodworth, HAEIDD Executive Director

Melody Woodworth is the Executive Director for the Hammond Area Economic Development District (HAEIDD), the Hammond Industrial Development Board (HIDB) and the Downtown Development District (DDD) for the City of Hammond. She has worked in economic development for the past 14 years on the state, parish, and city levels in both public and private sectors.

Prior to taking over the economic development roles for the City of Hammond, she was Project Manager for the Committee of 100 for Economic Development (C100), a private nonprofit economic development organization which also serves as the state’s business roundtable. She previously served as Vice President and Interim President of the Livingston Economic Development Council (LEDC) in Livingston Parish, Louisiana and as Executive Management Officer for the Louisiana Department of Economic Development (LED) under the administrations of Governor Mike Foster and Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Woodworth left LED in 2005 to serve three years as a missionary in Southeast Asia. She and her family lived in Singapore and in Kluang, Malaysia during that time, while traveling in and out of the surrounding countries of Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Borneo participating in medical missions, feeding programs, tsunami and volcano disaster relief, and funding water wells.

Melody is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and has completed the Economic Development Institute accredited by the International Economic Development Council through the University of Oklahoma.
