The City of Hammond is bisected by the Canadian National Railroad which provides passenger and freight services to points throughout the nation.  Both freight and passenger services on the Canadian National Railroad are available in the heart of Hammond.  Hammond is served by the Canadian National/Illinois Central mainline and the Hammond Industrial Park has a city-owned dedicated rail line that connects the industrial park to the mainline railroad.  This rail line also includes a turnaround near the Industrial Park.

Hammond Regional Airport has a 5,001 foot runway and a second runway that is extended to 6,500 feet.  The airport can accommodate every type of aircraft from the Piper Club to the Gulfstream G5.  It houses a full instrument landing system with approaching lighting and an automated weather system.

Water transportation continues to grow at the nearby Port of Manchac which handles bulk and containerized cargo through a bardge loading facility.  The inter-modal facility is capable of handling and/or storing various bulk, break-bulk, neo-bulk, and containerized cargoes by barge, rail, or truck.  The terminal is located directly adjacent to the north/south mainline of the Canadian National Railroad (CN) and currently maintains 4,000 ft. of rail storage track.  CN provides regular rail service to the port six (6) days a week. The facility is also located adjacent to Interstate 55 with direct links to Interstates 10 & 12.  Barge access to Lake Pontchartrain and The Port of New Orleans is provided via North Pass.
