Hammond is home to the Southeast Louisiana Business Center, which is the most accessible resource for entrepreneurs and business owners. The Southeast Louisiana Business Center was recognized as the top U.S. Region VI SBDC for Excellence and Innovation in both 2015 and 2017.

The SLBC offers:

  • High-quality, no-cost, confidential one-on-one consultations for startups and existing businesses
  • A wide variety of workshops and seminars
  • A virtually endless amount of services and resources to help businesses start, grow, and succeed

LA PTAC logoLouisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (LA PTAC)

The Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center provides specialized and professional procurement technical assistance to Louisiana businesses who are actively seeking and/or performing on contracts and subcontracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal, state and local governments.

The mission at the LA PTAC is to generate employment and improve the general economy of Louisiana by assisting business firms in successfully obtaining and performing under Federal, State and Local Government Contracts. Their work with both small and large businesses gives the LA PTAC the opportunity to make a difference in the economy of Louisiana.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana (MEPOL)

The Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana is a sponsored program of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) serving Louisiana manufacturers statewide. They have experts in house, as well as a statewide network of manufacturing extension agents and partners, to provide a full range of services that focus on productivity, profitability and manufacturing success.

Established in 1997, MEPOL is partially funded by a cooperative agreement with the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
